Speed of New York

We've spent just over a day and a half in New York now.  The fast pace of the city is right in step with our beat.  It's a pleasant switch from the laid back Seattlites.  People here are anxious to cross the street and often dart in between cars while running against the cross walk red hand.  Needless to say I fit right in.

The city is incredibly big.  We're breaking down our trip into parts of the city.  Yesterday we spent the day in midtown around Time Square.  We took the tour of NBC studios, went to the empire state building and tried (failed) to get into the Conan show on standby tickets.

Traveling however didn't change my desire to spend Monday night in a bar watching the Monday Night Football game.  Halfway through i felt sorry for Jamie and we headed on home.

Thus far the trip is great.  As Jamie pointed out though, when you visit a place and spend most of the time drinking and walking, you're going to like pretty much any place :)
