Favorite Quote, Not Favorite Book

I was playing around on facebook today and I ended up stumbling through some of my friends "Favorite Quotes" section.  Can it really be your favorite quote when it takes up half of the space in my web browser.  Seriously, if it's more than 30 words, it's no longer a quote, it's a rant, dialog or blathering.

Quotes are something to be remembered, enjoyed and able to quickly throw in your friends face to prove a point.  After 30 words, your friend is not convinced or shamed.  Instead they are laughing at your ridiculous attempt to insult them.

For instance, one of my favorite quotes is "Hope is the denial of reality".  Short, to the point and of course, said by a Fantasy character.  Mind you it's very rarely won me or been used in an argument.  But at least when people started laughing at me I was at least done saying the quote.  Can't say the same for ...

Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will stay awake just to watch you sleep. Wait for the guy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in your sweats, who holds your hand in front of his friends, Wait for the one who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you. Wait for the one who turns to his friends and says,".....that's her."

The best part is I didn't even add the ..., it was added by the person who put it up on facebook.

Guitar Hero

I just bought Guitar Hero 2 and already it's taking over our living room.  Jamie and I are competing and taking turns already.  The one out of luck is biding their time on the couch with a laptop doing who knows what (blogging).  It's almost my turn again.

Michigan vs Florida

Here's a preview of events that will happen

  • A michigan linebacker will break through the offensive line and it will be him and Tebow.  He will run straight at Tebow at full speed.  After recovering from the shock of such a pathetic move, Tim will side step the linebacker as he dives and tackles air, and run for 30 yards.  This has happened about twice in every game tehy played this year.

  • Tim Tebow will run for 2 touchdowns as the Michigan DB's try to arm tackle him at the goal line.

  • Tim Tebow will pass for 4 more touch downs on plays Michigan CB's decide to guard each other.

  • Michigan will go out the same way it played all year.

    • 1rst down - Mike Hart off tackle left (1 yard)

    • 2nd down - Mike Hart off tackle right (-1 yard)

    • 3rd down - Chad Henne throws a pass into double coverage because by this point everyone knows we're passing, and we know who he's going to pass to.  Lets face it there's only two recievers on this team that we trust in 3rd down situations.

    • 4th down - If we're lucky, they punt.  If not, it's blocked.

  • At half time Tim Tebow will intentionally rebreak his hand just to make the game interesting.

  • Michigan will loose by at least 20 points.

  • Michigan make a 20 point comeback from their 40 point deficit because Florida feels sorry for them and turns the bowl game into spring training with all of their red shirt freshman

  • For once Llyod will not be incredibly out coached at half time in a bowl game.  They will be loosing so badly that Urban Myer won't half to coach at all.

It's hard being a Michigan fan right now.

Snow

First day of december and we've got snow in Seattle.  When I first moved here I assumed this would be the norm.

If you look at a map Seattle appears to be fairly north, especially compared with where I grew up.  However the geography and the jet streams that go over Seattle make it a much warmer place than it should be.

It also rains a lot here.  :(

Unexpectedly though, this is the best Fall I've ever had in Washington.  The air is crisp and it's fairly cold but its surprisingly dry.  This is only really the 3rd or 4th time that it's rained here this fall.  And this year one of the times it rains, it snows (much better than rain).
